DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

Clotrimazole should be thinly and evenly applied to the affected area two to three times daily, and rubbed in gently.
The treatment should be continued for at least one month, or at least two weeks after disappearance of all signs of infection. If the feet are infected they should be properly washed and dried, particularly between the toes before applying Clotrimazole.

(ii) THERAPEUTIC / DIAGNOSTIC CLAIMS

Clotrimazole is indicated in all fungal skin infections due to dermatophytes (eg. Trichophyton species), yeasts (eg. Candida species), molds and other fungi. These include ringworm (tinea) infections, athlete’s foot, paronychla, ptyriasis vesicoor, erythiasma,Intertrigo, fungal nappy rash, candida vulvitis and candida calantiis.

(iii) DESCRIPTION OF DOSAGE FORM

Health 2000 Clotrimazole contains Clotrimazole which is a synthetic imidazole derivative. It is a broad spectrum antifungal agent and has fungicidal activity against all the fungi responsible for superficial mycotic skin infections. It also has activity against certain gram positive bacteria such as Streptococci and Staphylococci..

(iv) CONTRAINDICATIONS
There are no contraindications for use of Clotrimazole.

WARNING AND PRECAUTIONS

Clotrimazole is under FDA Pregnancy Category B.
Problems have not been determined with breast-feeding, pediatrics, and geriatrics populations.
Risk-benefit should be considered when sensitivity to clotrimazole exists.

INTERACTION
Avoid using other topicals at the same time. Other skin medications may affect the absorption or effectiveness of clotrimazole topical.
